Friday, 11 Mar : Today I took my brother out of his class and took him to the primary side of our school where we have a green screen that I wanted to use for 2 long shots in the music video. I had a tripod with my but it wasn't compatible with my phone so I recorded the footage handheld and put some props on the ground that I would later use as tracking markers later on to stabilize the footage.
Saturday, Mar 12 : I edited the footage that I had recorded yesterday. I began by stabilizing the clips and then keyed out the green. I also created a mask around my brother which would remove the the props in the background. Finally, I worked on the orange and blue animated background for the rest of the dance since I kept having a few issues with that. I initially only tried to render out the sections that I needed but I eventually just rendered out the entire song since I kept having syncing issues to make the background react to the music.
Sunday, Mar 13 : I recorded the rest of the music video in an hour with my brother today. We filmed in our bedroom. I filmed around 1 pm which would still make it seem like I filmed him early morning. After this I spent the whole day editing what I had recorded. I arranged the clips in order and color graded to make it seem more cinematic. I then removed the grade from the dream sequence to show a difference between what was real and what was a dream.
Monday, Mar 14 : I spent the day looking at changes that I could make in the edit. The biggest change that I had made was during the dream sequence, the shot of my actor dancing initially didn't have the alternate versions of himself.
Wednesday, Apr 20 : I re-filmed the dream sequence with my brother in front of a green screen at school. Instead of making my brother play football again, I made a simple choreography that interprets the lyrics of the song a little. I also made him write in one of his books for the chorus of the song. I thought it would be a nice break in between the choreography. I recorded this writing on both my phone and on my camera since my camera does usually have a lot of grain which I knew would make keying the background a lot more difficult while editing.

Thursday, Apr 21 - Sunday Apr 24 : I spent these 4 days editing what I had recorded on Wednesday and re-editing the end sequence. On the 21st, I worked on arranging the new clips into order and keying out the green screen and stabilizing the clips that I was going to use. I needed to stabilize the clip since I was using the clips from my phone instead of the camera because of the grain. I had also worked on the black background for the chorus. I then worked on the PAPERBACK WRITER text-on-screen effect. I didn't know what I wanted to do for this effect and so I thought about the intro text for the 15-23 music video. I decided on this fogged up glass effect, since I thought it was a very 'dreamlike' effect, that I spent the 22nd.
On the 23rd, I worked more on editing the footage the the text-on-screen for the chorus. I decided on the blue color because ink is usually blue. On the 24th, I was working on re-editing the end of the video since I wanted to include some footage that I had shot but not included for the first cut.
