According to Google, a community is "a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.". This means that everyone is a part of at least 1 community. It could be the area that they live in, the school that they go to or even having a hobby that makes them a part of a community. Recently with the rise of the internet, it has been even easier to connect with different communities all around the world. Nowadays, I can go on almost any social media app, such as Reddit, Discord, Instagram, etc, and interact with someone that would be in the same community as me. As of May 2021, there are over 2.8 Million subreddits on Reddit. That's 2.8 Million different communities on 1 website.
Out of all the communities that I'm apart off, I have decided to pick either Gaming or Comics. I have done research on both of them and put my findings onto a mind map.

Even though there is more information on the comics side, I have chosen gaming instead since Comics as a whole is a very large and broad topic. It will also be a lot more difficult for me to advise people to get into certain fandoms as many people will have their own opinions on what is better and I might also come off as biased towards a side in my product. I chose gaming since I game a lot and I understand both hardware and software for gaming. In my video I will inform the viewers of the different options they will have as they start gaming. I will include all different platforms and different games and even how the get more involved in the community.
Some aspirational figures in gaming are popular streamers like Ninja, John Sandman, Dr Disrespect. The player that won the last Fortnite World Cup, Bugha, was given 3 million dollars for winning. Other content creator that are aspirational would be Lachlan, Lazar Beam, Loserfruit, Dream, PewDiePie, JackSepticEye, Markiplier and a lot more. The gaming industry changes a lot so people get famous and go back down pretty quickly. Some people may not even like watching these people and would much rather find smaller creators and support them.
The primary research that I conducted help me figure out what I wanted to create.

I asked this question to help me figure out a target audience for my video. After looking at the rest of the video, I think my target audience should be 10+.

I asked this to see how many people actually play games. This way, I can make the video help gamers connect with their community and people who are thinking about starting gaming also involved in the gaming community.

These are the reasons that the 3 people who did the survey and don't game have for not playing games.

I wanted to see what consoles people were mainly using to play their games. This way I could see how balanced I would need to be in my video. After this, I have realized a lot of the people that I asked use a playstation console, which makes sense since that's what I use although this means that this answer is biased towards the highest selected console. This means I will have to be balanced about all consoles in my video and not talk about any of them negatively.

This question makes it easier for me to know what video games I should showcase in my video. While there are a lot more genres in my secondary research, I just picked the most played genres to help the survey takers since there are multiple games that fall into more than 1 of these. An example of this is Rocket League since its both driving and sports since the game is football but with cars. I think the best idea for me would be to showcase all of the different genres in their own section in the video.

I asked this question to see how involved people say they are in the gaming community. While 6.32 isn't a low number, its also not that high. This means that there are people who play games but don't interact with the rest of the community. So in my video I'll need to have a section to show how to interact with the gaming community since it really isn't too difficult.
