Thursday 29th April:
Didn’t get much done. I just designed the water bottle label and the coffee cup using the default shapes on PowerPoint.
Friday 30th April:
Once again I didn’t really get much done. I just decided to change the label for the water bottle because I realized that the label would overlap properly so I used the same text with a recurring pattern instead.
Saturday 1st May:
I created the 2D designs that I would need for the posters. I ended up designing everything including the fishes, the chicken and the cooked chicken.
Sunday 2nd May:
My actor and I went to the gym in our building and recorded him in the gym. I just told him to use a few of the machines for a few minutes as I record him from different angles. I also took my tripod and mic in case I wanted to use them, but I didn’t end up using them. We then went outside to film him throwing the water bottle in the trash. We did all of this around noon so that we wouldn’t get too tired.
Monday 3rd May:
I put my clips into Hitfilm Express to color grade it. I just made 1 shot with all of the clips and put a grade layer on top of it so that it would apply the same color corrections to of the clips that I filmed.
Tuesday 4th may:
I tried designing the knife in Blender today, but the notches weren’t working out properly, so I took a picture of a plastic knife, put it into HitFilm express and started manually cutting out the knife. I turned out to look pretty good, so I exported 1 frame and used that as my knife. Today I also took the clips that I color graded yesterday and put it into DaVinci Resolve to start putting it together. I also found music for the video today on YouTube Studio.
Wednesday 5th May:
I continued editing the gym scene together today.
Thursday 6th May:
I designed the characters and props for the stop motion and animation in PowerPoint. I then printed them out so that I could click pictures of them on the stop motion scene. I used an old shelf that I had that was a dark blue as the background for the stop motion.
Friday 7th May:
I started organizing the stop motion and color graded it in HitFilm Express to make the colors brighter and stand out more by using a grade layer which put the same effects on every clip under it.
Saturday 8th May – Tuesday 11th May:
I was working on the stop motion for most of this time as I would keep watching over it and fixing it. On Tuesday I exported it and put it with the other clips in DaVinci Resolve.
Wednesday 12th May – Due Date
Spent most of my time on the animation past as it took way longer than I was expecting it to take. Including the voiceover track I had almost 50 different layers. The reason it took so long is because as I was editing I would realize I needed to design and create a new element, so I spent a lot of my time doing that. I also took some time lining elements up with the V/O and making sure everything was going smoothly.
