For my primary research I got a total of 25 responses. I asked the following questions.
Do you know when world health day is? - if yes when will it be this year?
Have you ever cooked food on your own before?
What is the first thing you think about when you see 'Food Safety'?
How many step do you think there are to keep your food safe?
What do you think is the difference between safe and healthy food?
Who all I asked
I asked students in our year group, students outside the school and I even asked random people on the internet that were in my specific age range
The results
Only 1 out of the 25 people that answers the survey actually knew when world health day was. Yes they got the date correct.
All of them have cooked before which wasn't that surprising
A few of them thought food safety is the steps that are needed for the person cooking to be safe like around the stove and knives. and a few others thought it was the food that was safe for them to eat.
Most people correctly guessed the amount of steps needed to keep food safe. (it is 5)
What I learned from my research
I learned that not a lot of people actually know what day World Health Day is on. Only a few people don't actually know the difference between healthy eating and safe eating and since my main focus is on eating food that is safe to eat I will have to explain the difference between the two. I will also need to show numbers for how many steps are actually needed to make sure the food is safe to eat as everyone that did the survey had cooked food on their own before.
