A3 reflections

What were you initial intentions? How did your final cut change from these intentions? Why did you change what you did? My initial intention and my final cut were very similar. the only thing i really changed was how I had to start and end the documentary. I changed my location from the hall in my house to a classroom at school. instead of ending it with some information about the day I ended it after the 5th rule. How did all of your documentation and research help you with your documentary? Talk about primary research, secondary research, location recce etc. The secondary research helped me out a lot as I needed a place to start my documentary as my topic was very specific. I found a document by the WHO (My client) that had the 5 rules and how to maintain them. I used this document a lot when writing the script. the script also helped as this a documentary so I had to include facts and when doing the V/O I do tend to sometimes make stuff up How did you approach the task? What was your work ethic like? Did you hit deadlines? Did you structure your time well? How did you go about this process? I did definitely submit a few of my assignments in late. I think its because it is a lot more difficult to do 2 projects at the same time during my only exam plus I got a lot more work from my other subjects at the same time. during my time doing A3 i did also get some work to do by the school which means I couldn't direct most of the attention to this project. How has feedback you have received along the way affected your ways of working and your final cut? Feedback always helps. this time around i didn't really get much feedback but i just had to work with what I got. My feedback was pretty simple as most of it was just to add graphics and visuals. Do you think your final documentary is fit for purpose? Does it hit the brief? Is it what the client wanted? Im not fully sure. Yes it does hit the brief of 'Promote World Health Day' and 'Food Safety' but I don't think it fit for my audience. I think i tried my best but I think I just picked a boring subject for 15-23 year olds. How clearly does your doc communicate your intended meanings? Conside characters, narrative, shot types etc. Very clearly as I say the point and then show how to implement the point. Exept the cross contamination point. Since i don't eat meat and I was just making noodles I didn't really need to separate and wash everything. How appropriate is your doc for the intended audience? Like I said before, as a topic food safety is very boring. I tried my best to make it a little more interesting but I think my intended audience will still find it boring. What cinematic techniques did you use? (for this one, you may want to give evidence such as test shots used etc) What feedback did you get on your final product from peers/clients/audience or other? Do you agree with all of it? Overall, how happy are you with your finished product? What did you learn from this experience moving forward?
